We are seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer (1–3 years’ experience) to join our growing team, supporting the delivery of electrical design, lighting design and public domain projects across a diverse portfolio including urban infrastructure, commercial developments and public spaces.

The Role
As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and project teams to assist in the design and documentation of electrical systems, with exposure to lighting design and public domain infrastructure projects.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical capability across electrical design, consulting, and project delivery, while contributing to high-quality, compliant engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of electrical designs for building services and public domain infrastructure projects
• Support lighting design tasks, including calculations, layouts and documentation
• Produce drawings, schematics and models using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, reports and calculations
• Support power distribution, lighting, communications and associated systems design
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil and architectural disciplines
• Participate in site inspections, audits and commissioning activities as required
• Ensure designs align with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements
• Provide general engineering and project support across all phases of delivery

Experience & Skills

• 1–3 years’ experience in electrical engineering (building services, infrastructure or consulting preferred)
• Exposure to electrical design and documentation in a consulting environment
• Interest or experience in lighting design and/or public domain projects (highly regarded)
• Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Basic understanding of Australian Standards and electrical design principles
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage time and contribute across multiple projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Working towards Engineers Australia membership (or willingness to obtain)

Additional Requirements (Desirable)

• Experience with lighting design software (e.g. AGi32, Dialux)
• Exposure to BIM environments and 3D modelling
• Interest in sustainable design and energy-efficient systems
• Australian Citizenship ideal
